Toronto-based (Canada) studio founded in 1987, with a long track record in high-environmental-performance institutional and university architecture. It is the author of George Brown College's Limberlost Place, a landmark mass timber academic building in North America, and of the Centre for Green Cities. Its practice integrates passive strategies, nearly zero energy and engineered timber to reduce embodied carbon in large-scale facilities, combining environmental ambition with civic quality and durability.
Why we chose it
Because it brings mass timber and nearly zero energy standards to large-scale institutional architecture with built works such as Limberlost Place.
