arquitectura
Boston, Estados Unidos
Non-profit studio based in Boston (United States) with an office in Kigali (Rwanda), focused on architecture of social impact and local materials. It is the author of the Butaro District Hospital in Rwanda and the National Memorial for Peace and Justice in Alabama, as well as healthcare and educational centres in Africa using stone, earth and local labour. Its work links public health, dignity and local economies, reducing imported materials and carbon footprint in resource-constrained contexts.
Why we chose it
Because it builds health and memorial facilities with local materials and labour, showing that social impact and low carbon go hand in hand.
