Tokio, Japón
Studio founded by Japanese architect Shigeru Ban, winner of the 2014 Pritzker Prize, with offices in Tokyo, Paris and New York. It is a pioneer in timber structures and in recyclable cardboard tube systems for emergency shelters after disasters, from Kobe to Nepal. Its notable works include the Centre Pompidou-Metz and the Swatch Omega Campus, both using engineered timber. Its architecture combines low-impact materials, structural lightness and humanitarian commitment.
