Modulina works with prefabricated structural panels with a compressed straw core, integrated into a timber frame. In other words, its system combines: A timber frame as the load-bearing structure and a (compressed) straw core that acts as an excellent thermal and acoustic insulator, and also contributes to the reduction of embodied carbon. These straw panels not only offer outstanding thermal insulation (U-value ≈ 0.13 W/m²K), but also significantly reduce embodied emissions thanks to the CO₂ capture during the growth of the straw.
