High-performance natural design and construction cooperative based in Vermont (USA), specialising in structural straw insulated panels (S-SIP). Founded by Ace McArleton in 2006, it offers natural and healthy alternatives to conventional materials. Its panel line, Gryphon Panels, is the only straw panel manufacturer in the United States, using organic straw bales and timber from local sustainably-managed sawmills, with plant-based materials sourced within a radius of about 80 km. They manufacture prefabricated small houses at their Essex Junction plant, which are then assembled on site, with a very low-footprint straw insulation that captures carbon.
