Swedish company leading in industrialised construction of timber residential buildings, founded in 1924 as a sawmill and converted in 1994 towards timber prefabrication. It produces around 3,500 modules a year over a surface area of 42,000 m², with robotised lines that make construction resemble car manufacturing. Its plants allow residential buildings of up to 16 storeys to be built and assembled in a few days, with around 250 employees producing close to 20 homes per week. Thanks to the timber structure, they reduce carbon emissions to less than half compared with conventional materials.
Why we chose it
Because they industrialise timber residential buildings at large scale, reducing carbon emissions to less than half.
