Description

Arboreal is Uruguay's first and largest Mass Timber plant (and one of the largest in Latin America), vertically integrated from sawmilling to building design in timber. It produces cross-laminated timber (CLT) panels up to 3.5 × 12 m and structural sawn timber (strength classes up to C30), from FSC®-certified pine plantations (licence C134237), using formaldehyde-free adhesives. It holds two independently third-party verified Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) registered with The International EPD® System (Environdec): CLT (S-P-13314) and strength-graded structural timber (S-P-13067), both published 2024-06-30 and valid until 2029-06-29. Per its CLT EPD, the A1-A3 GWP-total balance is −743 kg CO2 eq/m³ (including 858 kg CO2e/m³ of biogenic carbon stored in the wood), helped by a Uruguayan electricity grid that is 59% hydro, 22.8% wind and 13.8% biomass. It exports to Asia, Europe and the Americas; no formal Spanish distributor is confirmed yet.
