Cânhamor

Description

Manufacturer and distributor of building materials based on industrial hemp, especially hempcrete (hemp + lime), mortars, aggregates and solutions for bio-based construction. They operate from Portugal (Beja/Ourique) and work on new build, refurbishment and technical training. Their mission is to drive low carbon footprint, breathable and healthy systems. They manufacture hempcrete and hemp aggregates for construction. They develop breathable render systems, insulating fill and light panels. They promote local production cycles (growing → processing → building). They offer technical training for self-builders, architects and builders. They are one of the players driving an emerging sector in the Iberian Peninsula: construction with hemp. First and only factory in the world that controls the whole process: from hemp treatment to the finished block. New 36,500 m² factory in Garvão (Ourique) with capacity to produce the equivalent of 300 houses/month. Investment of more than 26 million euros. Since 2021, 123 houses have been built in Portugal (30 in the Alentejo) and 2 in Spain.

Bloque de hormigón de cáñamo (cáñamo + cal hidráulica natural), Ourique (Portugal). Carbono-NEGATIVO confirmado: GWP-total A1–A3 = −2,5 a −11,4 kg CO₂eq/m² según el grosor del muro (7–32 cm); p.ej. −10,1 a 30 cm (ficha técnica oficial, base EPD EN 15804+A2; Itecons). Densidad aparente seca 318 kg/m³, λ 0,069 W/m·K, fuego A1. ⚠️ Corregido: el GWP estaba +40/m² (signo y magnitud erróneos); por m² depende del grosor. (El titular '10.000 kg/m²' de su web es un error de unidad suyo, no usar.)
