CELULOSA - Ecogreenhome

The blown cellulose distributed and installed by Ecogreenhome is a thermo-acoustic insulation of recycled origin: it is obtained by shredding recovered newspaper, into which boron salts are incorporated during manufacture, providing fire resistance and protection against insects, mites and rodents. Ecogreenhome, a Spanish company specialising in ecological insulation, works with cellulose from European manufacturers such as the Austrian Isocell and applies it by blowing it through small holes into air cavities, false ceilings and roof spaces, an intervention that is completed in a single day without building work. The material declares a thermal conductivity of 0,039 W/mK and a thermal lag of up to 12 hours with thicknesses of 200-250 mm, which makes it particularly effective against summer heat, as well as offering good acoustic performance against airborne noise and reverberation. Due to its recycled content and the carbon it keeps stored, it is one of the lowest-footprint insulation materials for energy retrofitting.
