Gramitherm

Grass fibre insulation with documented stored carbon, manufactured in Wallonia.

Gramitherm

Description

A Belgian manufacturer based in Sambreville (Wallonia) producing the only European insulation made from meadow grass fibre. It uses local grass that doesn't compete with food production, extracting the fibres and forming them into semi-rigid panels for roofs, walls and floors. According to its environmental documentation, a 100 mm panel stores 5.01 kg of CO2eq per square metre, and the product has an FDES in the INIES database and data in the Belgian TOTEM database, as well as a bio-based product label. A circular alternative that makes use of an abundant grass resource.
