Hempitecture

HempWool: the first EPD for hemp insulation from the US, with a negative manufacturing footprint.

Hempitecture

Description

American manufacturer of biobased insulation based in Idaho. Its plant in Jerome, powered by wind and solar energy, produces HempWool, a thermal batt with 92% industrial hemp fibre. In 2026 it published the first EPD for a hemp insulation manufactured in the United States, with a net GWP in modules A1-A3 of -0.80 kg CO2eq per declared unit thanks to the biogenic carbon stored by the fibre. It also manufactures acoustic panels and insulation for vehicles, and leads the rebuilding of the North American industrial hemp supply chain.
