Plantd

Description

A company from Durham (North Carolina), founded in 2021, that manufactures structural panels from a fast-growing perennial grass, harvestable up to three times per season and capable of growing several metres a year. Its panels replace OSB with greater strength and better moisture performance, according to the company, and store the carbon captured by the plant. The largest residential developer in the United States, D.R. Horton, has purchased 250,000 panels and has been installing them in production housing since 2024.
