SECIL (Companhia Geral de Cal e Cimento) is one of Portugal's largest manufacturers of construction materials. Although its main volume is cement, in Descarboniza we only highlight its lower-impact lines: Natural Hydraulic Lime (NHL 3,5 and NHL 5), a binder with a lower carbon footprint than Portland cement, breathable and suitable for the rehabilitation and restoration of historic buildings; the SecilVit CORK ETICS system, which insulates with cork (a bio-based material); lime renders for rehabilitation (REABILITA CAL), with high vapour permeability; and thermal mortars (Isodur, thermal renders) for energy efficiency. The company has near-term targets validated by SBTi and its own Environmental Product Declaration programme.
