Description

Swedish steelmaker (formerly H2 Green Steel) building the world's first large-scale integrated steel plant based on green hydrogen in Boden, with the largest electrolyser in Europe powered by renewable electricity. Its direct reduction of iron with hydrogen and electric arc furnace process aims to cut emissions by up to 95% compared with the conventional blast furnace route. Production is planned to start from 2026, with a target of 5 million tonnes per year by 2030, largely committed to European industrial customers.
