Vimacon

Handcrafted fired clay tiles and slabs from Vélez-Málaga, for flooring and cladding with a Mediterranean look.

Vimacon

Description

Vimacon is a family-run workshop in Vélez-Málaga (Málaga) that makes fired clay floor tiles entirely by hand, heir to the region's long pottery tradition and with close to 40 years in the trade. Each piece is hand-moulded, one by one, using local clay, and firing takes place in kilns fuelled by eco-friendly fuels sourced from local agricultural surpluses, a low-footprint process far removed from polluting industrial production. The catalogue includes tiles and slabs in multiple formats — square, rectangular, hexagonal, diamond or star-shaped — as well as steps, pool edging, sills and special pieces for staircases, doors and worktops. The result is unique terracotta flooring, with the irregularities and patina typical of handmade clay, suitable for indoor and outdoor use both in the restoration of traditional architecture and in new-build projects with a Mediterranean inspiration. Vimacon ships its pieces throughout Spain, Europe, the United States and much of Latin America.
