CICYTEX, the Centre for Scientific and Technological Research of Extremadura, is a public body of the Regional Government of Extremadura that carries out research in agriculture, agri-food and natural resources. It includes, among others, the Institute of Cork, Wood and Charcoal, of particular interest for construction with bio-based materials. It works on reducing environmental impact, tackling climate change, bioindustries and value chains such as that of industrial hemp, contributing applied science to natural and renewable materials.
