Lérida
The Centre de Ciència i Tecnologia Forestal de Catalunya (CTFC), based in Solsona (Lérida) and founded in 1996, is one of Spain's leading applied forestry research centres. Its work is organised around multifunctional forest management, biodiversity conservation, landscape dynamics and circular bioeconomy. With more than a hundred professionals, it transfers knowledge to public administrations, businesses and industry and promotes natural, sustainable-origin products — such as timber — through initiatives like its Forestry Hub for innovation.
Why we chose it
Because it turns the forest into useful knowledge for building: sustainable forest management, circular bioeconomy and traceable timber. It makes the "forest to building" chain credible.
