Casa Serra d'Ordal

A 2024 bioclimatic single-family home designed by Slow Studio (Víctor Vergés and Jade Serra) in the Garraf, within the Garraf Natural Park. Built with compacted earth blocks stabilised with lime, natural cork insulation, a cross-laminated timber (CLT) structure and a green roof. Larch joinery with double glazing. Passive bioclimatic strategies: south-facing solar gain, thermal mass in the earth walls, shading through a pergola and adjustable louvres, natural cross-ventilation through courtyards. No active air conditioning systems. Supported by photovoltaic panels and air-source heat pumps. Photography by Salva López.
