París, Francia
A Paris-based architecture agency led by Paul Azzopardi and Étienne Feher, bringing together architects, engineers and designers around environmental, energy and climate issues. Their Maison des Solidarités in Langon comes close to 100% biosourced materials, with straw and wood fibre insulation, French timber (Landes pine, fir, Douglas fir), renewable energies (solar and biomass) and E3-C2 low-carbon certification. They are among the reference studios of the 21st-century timber/biosourced architecture gallery in France.
Why we chose it
Because they design public facilities with materials that are close to 100% biosourced, demonstrating buildings with very low embodied carbon.
