Seattle, Estados Unidos
Seattle-based studio (Washington, United States) led by architect Susan Jones, a pioneer in cross-laminated timber (CLT) construction in North America. It is the author of the first permitted single-family home in CLT in the country, as well as religious and affordable housing projects in solid timber. Its practice has contributed to the regulatory changes that have opened the door to structural timber in the United States and actively promotes its use to reduce embodied carbon in building.
Why we chose it
Because it has been a pioneer of CLT in North America and has driven the regulatory changes that allow building in solid timber with a lower footprint.
