Seattle, Estados Unidos
Seattle (Washington)-based studio recognised for its work on large public facilities using decarbonisation criteria and engineered timber. It is the author of the Summit convention centre in Seattle and of university projects that integrate cross-laminated timber (CLT) to reduce embodied carbon. It combines research in energy efficiency, high-performance façades and life-cycle modelling with large-scale civic architecture. Its practice is part of the AIA 2030 commitment and pursues buildings with low impact and high durability.
Why we chose it
Because it demonstrates that large public facilities can be decarbonised through engineered timber, efficient façades and rigorous life-cycle analysis.
