Portland, Estados Unidos
Studio founded by Thomas Robinson in 2009 with offices in Portland (Oregon) and Los Angeles. It is one of the pioneers of cross-laminated timber (CLT) construction in the United States. Its Framework project won the U.S. Tall Wood Building Prize from the Department of Agriculture in 2015 and was conceived as the country's first tall building in solid timber, with data published openly to accelerate regulatory change. It also designed Albina Yard and the Adidas headquarters in Portland, establishing structural timber as an alternative to concrete and steel due to its lower carbon footprint.
Why we chose it
Because it has been decisive in introducing solid timber into American construction and openly shares its technical data to reduce the sector's carbon footprint.
