Daca, Bangladés
Studio of Bangladeshi architect Marina Tabassum, based in Dhaka (Bangladesh). She is the author of the Bait Ur Rouf mosque, built in local brick and awarded the Aga Khan Award for Architecture in 2016, as well as the Khudi Bari modular housing, demountable and adapted to communities affected by flooding and climate change. Her work employs local materials, natural ventilation and lighting, and a low-cost, low-impact architecture rooted in the Ganges delta.
Why we chose it
Because with the Aga Khan 2016 award and the Khudi Bari housing, she demonstrates a climatically resilient architecture, using local materials and with a very low footprint.
