Amorim Florestal España is the Spanish subsidiary of the Portuguese group Corticeira Amorim, with a plant in San Vicente de Alcántara (Badajoz). It is the group's raw material unit: it handles the sourcing, purchase, storage and primary preparation of cork (grading and processing of slabs) that then supplies the rest of the divisions. It manages the purchase of cork from forestry producers and promotes R&D linked to the cork oak. Unlike Amorim Cork Insulation —which manufactures expanded cork agglomerate (ICB) for insulation—, Florestal is the forestry and raw material division, not the insulation product division.
