48 VPP en las Illes Balears (Lloc Arquitectes)

Development of 48 public housing units in the Illes Balears designed by Lloc Arquitectes as part of IBAVI's housing programme. It combines a cross-laminated timber (CLT) structure with locally produced ceramics, a hybridisation that reduces the embodied carbon of the development without giving up the thermal inertia required by the Mediterranean climate. The timber lightens and speeds up the construction work and fixes CO2, while the local brick shortens transport and supports the island's industry; cross-ventilation and intermediate spaces complete the passive approach.
