Camping Alfacs — Tapialblock

Tourist cabins at Camping Alfacs (Ebro Delta) built with Tapialblock, a new prototype of prefabricated raw earth block compacted with a hydraulic press, developed in collaboration with Fetdeterra. Blocks one metre long by twenty centimetres wide that resolve all the façade layers in a single piece, demonstrating an industrialised approach to earth architecture. A project by Bajet Giramé and JAAS that revives the Mediterranean building culture of earth, adapting it to contemporary prefabrication processes. High thermal inertia, low carbon footprint, local materials. A recent reference point for industrialised rammed earth in Spain.
