13 wood and straw social housing

Given the commission to design 13 individual social housing units for a site in Nogent-le-Rotrou, France, NZI Architectes took the opportunity to explore innovative and eco-friendly construction techniques. With this in mind, the resulting project uses timber and straw, offering the possibility of fully prefabricating large wall areas in the factory. The use of these methods and materials made it possible to reduce costs and time spent on site, whilst limiting the use of unsustainable resources.
