Chiang Mai, Tailandia
Sports hall of the Panyaden International School in Chiang Mai (Thailand), completed in 2017. Chiangmai Life Architects built it entirely from naturally treated bamboo (borax salts, no toxins), with prefabricated trusses spanning 17 metres that cover 782 m² of court without structural steel or concrete. The studio estimates that its carbon footprint is around 90% lower than that of an equivalent conventional construction, as the bamboo stores more carbon than is emitted on site. A benchmark in modern Asian bamboo engineering.
