The construction system was designed to prioritise speed and low construction costs, as well as ease of understanding of the project by local builders. The earth walls were built by a specialist company and rest on exposed concrete foundations. The floors (except the courtyard) are polished concrete over polystyrene boards for thermal insulation. The courtyard floor tiles sought to recall the coffee drying patios of historic farms.
