Toronto, Canadá
Ten-storey academic building for George Brown College on Toronto's waterfront, completed in 2025. Ontario's first mass timber, net-zero-energy institutional building: Canadian-sourced CLT and glulam structure, fossil-fuel-free heating and cooling, photovoltaics and connection to the lake water cooling network. It achieves a 30% reduction in embodied carbon compared with concrete and prompted a change in the provincial code, which now permits encapsulated mass timber up to 18 storeys.
