Son Servera (Mallorca), España
Development of 42 publicly protected homes in Son Servera (Mallorca), designed by Peris+Toral Arquitectes for the IBAVI. The project, known as Living in Lime, displaces cement and uses lime as the main binder for walls and finishes: a material with a lower firing temperature and a lower carbon footprint that also reabsorbs CO2 as it carbonates. The flexible typologies and intermediate outdoor spaces complete a passive architecture adapted to the Mallorcan climate and to the Balearic programme for low-impact public housing.
