    Mjøstårnet

    Brumunddal, Noruega

An 18-storey mixed-use tower measuring 85.4 metres beside Lake Mjøsa in Brumunddal (Norway), completed in 2019. It was the tallest timber building in the world until 2022: an entirely glulam and CLT structure by Moelven using timber from local forests, housing flats, a hotel, offices and a restaurant. It was built without exterior scaffolding, using a crane and climbing platforms, and demonstrated that timber can compete in height with steel and concrete while drastically reducing embodied carbon.
