    The House at Cornell Tech

    Nueva York, Estados Unidos

A 26-storey, 82-metre residential tower on Roosevelt Island (New York), completed in 2017 for the Cornell Tech campus. On certification it was the tallest and largest Passivhaus building in the world, with 350 homes for students and faculty. Its building envelope of prefabricated, highly airtight metal panels with triple glazing cuts energy demand by around 60-70 % compared with a conventional block and avoids around 882 tonnes of CO₂ a year. It demonstrated that the Passivhaus standard scales up to the residential skyscraper.
