Torre Bolueta

Residential building 88 metres tall with 28 storeys and 171 social housing units in the Bolueta neighbourhood (Bilbao). When completed in 2018, it was the tallest Passivhaus building in the world, demonstrating that the Passivhaus standard is viable at large scale and in social housing. Designed by Varquitectos (Germán Velázquez). Airtightness <0.6 1/h, façade with ETICS, dual-flow ventilation with heat recovery, triple-glazed windows. Award from the Passivhaus Institut at the International Passivhaus Conference in Munich. Energy demand for heating and cooling below 15 kWh/m²·year.
