Studio founded in Barcelona in 2003 by siblings Núria and Jordi Oliveras Boix, graduates of the ETSAB. They place the user at the centre of a creative and research process where detail, construction processes and resource optimisation are key. They work on facilities, housing, interior design and urban planning, with particular dedication to refurbishment. At the Ateneu de Fabricació de Gràcia they recovered the building's original timber trusses as a defining feature. They received the AJAC young architects award in 2010 and the BASF architecture award in 2012.
Why we chose it
Because they reuse existing timber structures and optimise resources in public works, extending the life of what's already built.
