Eko-Biziak

Cooperative cohousing under a right-of-use scheme, promoted by the Eko-Biziak cooperative in Vitoria-Gasteiz, in the Mendigorritxu neighbourhood. A non-speculative cooperative housing model, similar to La Borda in Barcelona, with shared community spaces (kitchen, laundry, workshops, vegetable garden). Built with natural materials: timber structure, enclosures with prefabricated straw panels, plant-based insulation (straw, sheep's wool, wood fibre), lime and clay renders. Passive design aimed at high energy efficiency and low running costs. Practically carbon-neutral enclosures.
