Vivienda de paja PBE (Taller Karuna)

House built in Extremadura in 2017 using prefabricated timber and straw modules developed by Taller Karuna, Jesús Morán's team specialising in straw bale construction. The modules are made in the workshop and assembled on site within a few days, combining the precision of prefabrication with a plant-based insulation that stores carbon and comes from an agricultural by-product. The result is a building envelope with high thermal performance and minimal embodied carbon, replicable in other homes.
