GGBS and ACT technology: low-carbon cements with verified EPD from Dublin and Dunkirk.
Independent Irish cement company founded in 2000 and specialised in low-carbon cements. It produces GGBS (ground granulated blast-furnace slag) in Dublin and other European plants: a steel industry by-product that replaces clinker and has a third-party verified cradle-to-gate EPD. Its ACT technology, with European technical approval, reduces the footprint of cement by more than 70% and will have its first commercial unit in Dunkirk. Ireland already requires low-carbon cement in public procurement, a market that Ecocem helped drive forward.
