Steelworks of Grupo Gallardo with an electric arc furnace steel mill in Jerez de los Caballeros (Badajoz). It produces structural and reinforcing steel from recycled scrap, a route that substantially reduces energy consumption and emissions compared with the traditional blast furnace. Its products have environmental declarations verified under AENOR's GlobalEPD programme (001-019, 001-020 and 001-021). It is one of the few large steelworks in the south-west of the Iberian Peninsula, bringing recycled steel closer to building sites in Extremadura and Andalusia without long transport distances.
