Development of 57 publicly protected homes by IBAVI in the Es Molinar neighbourhood (Palma), designed by Javier de las Heras Solé. It forms part of the Balearic institute's approach to applying low-carbon criteria to public housing: local materials, massive walls with thermal inertia, and courtyards and intermediate spaces that make the most of the Mediterranean climate to minimise the need for heating and cooling. The complex arranges the blocks around communal spaces and favours durability and easy maintenance as an environmental strategy.
