The Black & White Building

An office building in Shoreditch (London) designed by Waugh Thistleton Architects and completed in 2023, the tallest solid timber office building in central London at the time of its completion. It combines a beech LVL structure with CLT floor slabs, a slender solution that maximises usable floor area with minimal material. Designed for disassembly and future reuse of its components, it substantially cuts embodied carbon compared with an equivalent concrete and steel building.
