Casa 1413 — la casa-muro de Ullastret

A 330 m² single-family house in Ullastret (Girona) that replaces the stone wall around the estate, which had to go when the street was widened. HARQUITECTES makes the house the wall itself: a long single-storey piece built with load-bearing walls that reuse the stone of the old wall mixed with aggregate from the plot, lime and cement, with particles of recycled expanded glass added for insulation. It was shortlisted for the EU Mies van der Rohe Award 2019.
