Escuela infantil La Baiuca

A 767 m² nursery school in A Estrada (Pontevedra), a town with a strong furniture-making tradition, designed by Abalo Alonso Arquitectos and completed in 2018. A cluster of almost elementary volumes, joined like the timber houses of a Galician 'rueiro', holds the programme in three bands: services to the north, classrooms to the south and a central multipurpose hall shaped by roofs and skylights. The timber structure is by Egoin, with advice from CIS Madeira and structural design by Maderas Besteiro.
