The main campus of the University of Vigo is 10 km from the city centre. To expand its activity, three buildings in the city were refurbished, preserving the stone remains. A timber structure rises above these, using industrialised systems to optimise the material. The design draws on traditional naval construction, incorporating technological advances. Porticoes and stone façades are restored on the western front, and the foundation is built with micropiles and dressed stone.
