Sede de Prodis en el Vapor Cortès

New headquarters for the Prodis foundation, which supports adults with intellectual disabilities, inside the former Filatures Matarí textile sheds at the Vapor Cortès in Terrassa. HARQUITECTES keeps the comb-shaped layout (shed-street-shed): brick walls, timber trusses and Arabic-tile roofs. The street between the two sheds is recovered by removing the slabs and roof of the central volume, and new beams turn the original one-way structure into a two-way one. It provides 3,842 m² of workshops, classrooms, kitchen and dining rooms. Awarded at the 17th Spanish Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism.
