ICTA-ICP — edificio de ciencias ambientales de la UAB

Research centre for environmental sciences and palaeontology on the campus of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, by HARQUITECTES with DATAAE, completed in 2014. Its five 40 × 40 m floors are conceived as a flexible infrastructure: the concrete structure, optimised with lightened post-tensioned slabs, provides the thermal mass that makes use of the internal heat of labs and offices in winter and dissipates it in summer. The roof holds greenhouse gardens. It is LEED Gold certified.
