Oficinas Inspire (Batlleiroig)

An office building designed by Batlleiroig with a hybrid structure of cross-laminated timber (CLT) and glue-laminated timber, recognised with a special mention at the AMAD awards. The structural hybridisation allows for large spans and flexible use with a fraction of the embodied carbon of a conventional structure, and the exposed timber improves comfort and the environmental quality of the workspaces. The project exemplifies the entry of mass timber into the Spanish tertiary sector market, until now dominated by concrete and steel.
