Centro cívico Lleialtat Santsenca

Refurbishment of the Lleialtat Santsenca (1928), a former workers' cooperative in the Sants neighbourhood of Barcelona, turned into a civic centre after a process driven by residents' associations since 2009. HARQUITECTES kept everything that could be reused — facades, partitions and part of the structure — and left the passage of time visible. An atrium roofed with cellular polycarbonate lights the interior all year round and acts as a thermal buffer that tempers ventilation air.
